Vesselina Vassileva graduated opera singing at the National Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov” - Sofia. Her studies continued with Ghena Dimitrova, Maia Popova and Atanas Atanasov.
Vesselina Vassileva has sung in all Bulgarian Opera Theaters with great success. She has also appeared widely in Europe, including in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Norway and Poland.
Her debut in the United States in the role of Gilda “Rigoletto” has led to regular return visits, singing across the continent. Roles there have included Mimi “La Boheme” and Violetta “La Traviata”, with a number of major Mozartean roles including Pamina “Die Zauberflote” and Suzanna “Le nozze di Figaro”.
In 2008 Vesselina Vassileva sang Emilia in “Emilia di Liverpool” at St George's hall - Liverpool, UK. Then she has a huge success again with Emilia in Gdansk, Poland. She performed at Varna Opera Theatre with “Carmen”, “La Traviata” and “Rigoletto”. Then she sang Xenia in “Boris Godunov” at International Music Festival Varna Summer and made her debut as Nedda in “Pagliacci” at Bourgas Opera Theatre.
In 2009 Vesselina Vassileva sang Micaela in “Carmen” at Bourgas Opera Theatre, Violetta in “La Traviata” at Varna Opera Theatre and Musetta in “La Boheme” at Sofia National Opera. She performed again at International Music Festival Varna Summer this time as Nedda in “Pagliacci”.
In 2010 Vesselina Vassileva sang Violetta Valery in “La Traviata” at Varna Opera Theatre and made her debut as Freia in “Das Rheingold” at Sofia National Opera.
In 2011 she performed with Violetta Valery in “La Traviata” and Freia in “Das Rheingold” at Sofia National Opera, and with Micaela in “Carmen” at Bourgas Open-Air Theatre.
